Description:

Mememasak is a zine documenting a meme culture short course and exhibition with the same title initiated by Kapital Space. Inspired by the book Can Jokes Bring Down Government?, the program explored how memes intersect with art, design and politics through discussions and collaborative experiments. Taken from the word 'meme' and 'masak' (cooking), Kapital Space positioned themselves as the kitchenware supplier, inviting collaborators to bring the ingredients, and participants to ‘cook’ together in the program. The zine captures the process, findings, and meme-based works contributed by invited collaborators such as Rugun Sirait, Bonivasius Dwi, Anathapindika Dai, Lija Markus, and Instagram admins from Anti Kolektif-Kolektif Club and Yang Kaga-Kaga. The exhibition also featured works by Cisco Maharani, Dhanurendra Pandji, M. Zeian, MM Ridho, Riskya Duavania, and Untonk.
